Tim Kindler is an Australian contemporary photographer based in Sydney. Born in 1982, he is the son of Austrian immigrant Hans Kindler and Australian born mother Janice Kindler. Tim was always artistically inclined, as a child he would spend entire nights depicting ideas on canvas, before picking up a camera at a very early age. To no surprise, Tim was granted a creative scholarship before finishing High School to study a Diploma of Screen in Film and Television at KvB college (currently known as Raffles College of Design and Commerce).

After finishing his studies, young Timothy worked as a senior photographer at a Sydney based retail photography studio before being approached to travel abroad to shoot the international fashion week tour. For the following 4 years, Tim shot all of the major Fashion Week shows from New York, London, Milan and Paris as both a stills photographer and cinematographer for publications such as Vogue US, Harper's Bazaar UK and Australia and GQ. During this time, Tim worked as an assistant for renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino.

Leveraging this unique experience, along with refined skillset, Tim established his own production company, Paper House Productions in 2013. Recently the company rebranded to be called dualism with its purpose to better service a wider range of clients though a roster of Photographers and Directors. His production company works with a dedicated list of fashion, automotive, luxury, lifestyle and beverage clients and has established a name which has become synonymous with polished visual aesthetics and accessible high production values.

During his 20 year career in commercial photography, Tim has always maintained a passion for curating his own archive of artistic images. Throughout his travels around the world, he has captured images which transcend the language of different cultures and the places he has experienced. Even though  Tim’s focus has predominantly been on his work as a Commercial Photographer and Motion Director, recently he has begun to give increasing attention to his passion for fine art photography with the culmination of the conceptual and exploratory underwater series, BELOW.

Tim approaches this conceptual work through critical observation of the surrounding environment, with the focus on unraveling beauty, mystery and the unknown. Through possession of a unique blend of technical and creative finesse he helps his audience to see more and to see deeper.

Tim is currently working on the new series which aims to discover the mythical phenomena of nature and the human ability to see the unseen.
